Happy Labor Day! This Labor Day weekend was spent deep cleaning the apartment, washing mounds of clothing, and hanging out with my family, John, and John's family! It doesn't sound like much of an exciting weekend, but it was exactly what I needed and wanted.
To get ready for the NFL Run Series this coming up weekend, I was in desperate need of a new pair of tennis shoes.
John, my dad, and I went to Stinky Feet (I just love the name of that store), so they could tell me and dad what type of tennis shoe would work best for us. John has been there before to get shoes and absolutely loved the service and shoes they recommended for him. Dad and I had the same exact experience! The lady that helped us was incredibly nice and knowledgable. She knew exactly what we needed just from us walking to the door and back. She did not push us to buy a pair of shoes from them. She just wanted to help us find shoes that were comfortable to walk in. I was told that I needed a support tennis shoe, and dad needed a neutral.
After some swift thinking, I decided on these babies - the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 14! I love the fit and the color! Dad, on the other hand, just picked up a new pair of his usual New Balance tennis shoes that he has worn for years. He is the 'if it's not broken, why fix it' type.
I did buy dad his first pair of Balega socks to go with his New Balance shoes, and he loves them! John converted me to these socks last year, and I honestly have not worn another pair of socks since then. These socks are so comfortable, and I love the bright colors!
All in all, I had a great, relaxing, somewhat productive weekend!
What did you get into on this beautiful Labor Day weekend?
