Shake Shack STL

Let me tell you 'bout my new best friend, Shake Shack. In 2014, my parents, John, and I went to New York City, and we never managed to make it to the infamous Shake Shack. It wasn't high on our list of must eats, so I wasn't too disappointed. Little did I know what I was missing out on. Four years later, I'm finally trying it for the first time here in St. Louis, and it was FANTASTIC!
I looked online to see what their most popular items were to try. I couldn't pick just one, so we tried it all. It was a steep bill at $47, but it was totally worth it. We each got a burger, fries, and shake, and we split a hot dog and chicken sandwich. John was stuffed afterwards, but I felt like I could go again. It was so good!
We both got the ShackBurger - John's was a double, and I got the single patty (no lettuce or tomatoe:)) Do you ever just crave a burger but are very specific about the burger you are craving? I honestly do this all of the time. I've never been able to specifically tell John what burger I want from what restaurant when this happens. I just know I don't want a fancy burger (like Red Robin), nothing from Burger King, Steak 'n Shake won't do it for me, McDonald's is too greasy. I just don't know what I want. Well, the ShackBurger is EXACTLY what I've had in my head this whole time. I just never knew it. It's THE burger I want when I say I'm craving a burger. It's juicy, cooked perfectly, and tastes amazing.

We split the Chick'n Shack, which I'm glad we did. I normally don't gravitate toward chicken sandwiches, but this one was good! The crispiness of the chicken was just right. I would still pick the burger, but I definitely say you've got to try the chicken sandwich at least once.
We also split the hot dog, which I wasn't a big fan of. I'm glad I tried it, but it's not something I would get again. It just kind of tasted like a regular ole hot dog to me.

But let me tell you about these french fries! John got the chili cheese fries, which isn't on their menu, so I don't know if you can get them all year long or not. If they have them, get them! The chili was fantastic! I got just the plain cheese fries. It's a toss up on which ones I loved more, but I think I liked the plain cheese fries better. John said he liked them with chili better. I'm not sure what liquid cheese blend they use, but whatever it is, it's working. These were hands down the best cheese fries I've ever had, and I feel like that's a lot coming from a fry whore like myself.
Lastly, we had milkshakes. John tried the salted caramel, and I had the chocolate. I liked both of them equally, but if I didn't get a milkshake every time I went, I would be okay with that. They were just good to me, not great, or the best I've ever had. I love ice cream in any form, so who am I kidding? I would totally get a milkshake every time, just maybe try other flavors.
So final answer on Shake Shack. It was everything I would hoped it would be and more. I will always get the ShackBurger (no lettuce or tomatoe), cheese fries, and some form of custard.

What is your fave food at Shake Shack?
