It Felt Like My Birthday Weekend

Several weekends ago (because I procrastinated and am just now getting this post up) was probably one of my favorite weekends of the year so far! It honestly felt like my birthday. The only thing we didn't do was go to the zoo.
On Thursday, my mejor Erin sent me a message about going to the Cardinals home opener. She found tickets for $17, which is practically unheard of, so we jumped on 'em. Even though it was standing room only tickets, we had the best time with a great view. Plus we had a bar that served the entire game right next to us. I fully believe that if you didn't have at least one beer at the first Cardinals game, did you even really go?

The game itself was extremely uneventful, but I did get to see those beautiful Budweiser Clydesdales (my favorite part).
On Saturday, we finally got to see the St. Louis Symphony play the music for Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets. It was incredible! I would get sucked into watching the orchestra play then I would get sucked into the movie. It was such a great experience, and our seats were fantastic. We sat on the floor, and I just don't think you can't go wrong with any of the seats down there.
We didn't dress in our favorite House colors, but there were plenty of people who did! I love when people just let their inner self or freak out. Just do you (new Nike slogan?). One day I will make it to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and get me a damn robe.
This was mine and John's first time to Powell Symphony Hall, and it was absolutely stunning! We are wanting to take a tour of it and The Fox Theatre.

The nicest police officer offered to take our picture because he could tell we were being uber touristy. So sweet!:)
After going to the Symphony, John and I celebrated National Beer Day. Layla and Penny celebrated with their new toys. We have a new found love for Dixie beer. My dad has always loved Dixie beer, but I had never tried it, especially once it left New Orleans. We just never saw it anywhere to purchase. Now that Tom and Gale Benson recently purchased Dixie beer, we were able to buy some when we went down to Mardi Gras. I don't know what it tasted like before the original recipe was brought back, but this beer is good. The light is my least favorite, but I love the regular and the Blackened Voodoo! Get in my belly.
To cap off Saturday, we tried a new restaurant with some of my favorite people and it did not disappoint! We can always rely on the Bhatt family to introduce us to new and GOOD places to eat. Their daughter puts me to shame with all of the different and amazing food she has tried. I maybe slightly jealous. Don't judge. I'm trying.
The menu looked completely out of my comfort zone, but I'm so glad I didn't let that stand in my way. I really feel like I would have missed out! I loved it all, but my favorites were the appetizers. I recommend the Famous Egg Salad, Israeli Bruschetta, and King of Kings Hummus! It was the perfect end to the perfect weekend!

Sunday there were no pics because we just vegged out and watched tv shows!

Best. Weekend.
