Roaming Thoughts of the Week - One

I think this will be a great series to start. I have some weird shit that goes through my brain weekly, so I figured I would share that with you all as well.

Roaming Thought #1:

Is there a job available for 'Professional Envelope Stuffer'? If so, sign me up.

I haven't had very many jobs in my life. I've had five jobs total, and I still work at three of them. But it never fails... I am always the one that gets stuck stuffing the envelopes.

Seriously, a monkey could do this task. I guess I am just that freaking awesome at it.

Roaming Thought #2:

PLL = OMG (This is NOT a spoiler!)

Pretty Little Liars - Fatal Finale was amazing! I cannot wait until the Halloween episode!

I have watched this show since the very beginning, and I still love it. It's so twisted and makes you think, "what would I do in that situation?"

Roaming Thought #3:

I saw this gorgeous sunset on Wednesday! It's amazing to see what beautiful things God creates daily! It's so great when you can just sit back, relax, and just enjoy what He has done for you!

Roaming Thought #4:

I have kind of been on a book spree lately. I guess as I am getting older (the ripe old age of 25), I enjoy things like reading books - who knew?

Whenever I finish one of these books, I will do another book review like my #GIRLBOSS post, which can be found here!

I hope you all have a great and safe Labor Day weekend! I will be relaxing by the pool, playing with my pups, and sippin' on some wine! Thank you for reading!

What are your plans for this Labor Day weekend?

Happy National Dog Day

I am a huge animal lover! I will cry if something happens to an animal but not so much if it is a person. Call me heartless, but I have always been that way. It's no disrespect to the person. My emotions just don't jive that way.

{The quality of the pictures below are lacking because they were taken from my cellphone.}

Happy National Dog Day to my favorite fur babies ever!

This is my precious Bell (a.k.a BellBell)! She was my Christmas present in 2005. I absolutely adore this sweet Beagle face. For her to about to be nine, she has way more energy than my other pup, who is about to turn six. Bell loves to play outside during the day, but when nightfalls, you can find her sleeping under a blanket.

Meet my other adorable baby, Sophie! I scooped up Sophie in 2008 while I was "touring" colleges in Mississippi. She is the laziest and sweetest Bassett Hound you will ever meet. I believe Sophie's objective in life is to eat as many treats and ice cubes she possibly can.

I absolutely adore these two girls, and I don't know what I would do without them! They are like my version of a therapist. And yes, I talk to my dogs - don't you? Bell knows when I am sick or sad. She will stay by my side until she feels like I am okay. Sophie just knows when I have food or ready for a long nap!

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind do you have?

Exciting Date Night

Moving into an apartment, on your own, for the first can be scary, but it can also be a lot of fun... even if date night does consist of grocery shopping!

First things first, we had to fuel up for our grocery shopping trip. And let me tell you, learning how to cook can be a doozy. Last week, I spent 2.5 hours trying to make a Buffalo Chicken Pasta recipe I found somewhere in the world wide web. It sounded so easy. It was a big ole FAIL. I have never cooked chicken (boneless, skinless chicken breasts) before and that in itself was enough work for me to throw it in the trash and just order pizza. Note to self: one must thaw said chicken before you try and cook it.

Dinner had to be ready immediately when John stepped foot into my apartment because he doesn't get here until 6:00p. We needed to have an ample amount of time to explore the wonders that lie at Whole Foods.

I cooked boneless, skinless chicken breasts, four cheese (instant) mash potatoes, and green beans. It doesn't sound extremely domestic, but after last week, I was just happy that I didn't turn my oven into a closet like Carrie did on Sex and the City.

We just recently got a Whole Foods in Jackson, so this was a whole new experience for us.

The produce was gorgeous - wait, can produce be gorgeous?

Just "fishing" around the store. Too cheesy? Oh well!

And of course we had to stop and get some wine while we were there! I was completely out of Moscato!

After over an hour of grocery shopping, with a grocery list, this is what we came out with! I think we were quite successful. I have heard a lot of good things about each of these products, so I am anxious to try them.

Hope you all had a great Monday!

Bath & Body Works Sale

On Friday, I looked online to see if Bath & Body Works put their fall candles out yet. To my surprise, they did PLUS they were running a buy two 3-wick candles for $22.00 sale! So the sale is pretty much buy one get one free, which is awesome! Since moving into my new apartment, I have become a candle whore. There is constantly a candle burning in my apartment... until I found out that you are only supposed to light the candle for 3-4 hours and then let it harden back up before relighting. Oops!

The Autumn candle is described as a dark pomegranate, red apple and fig scent. The scent is more on the sweeter side for a fall candle, but I thought it would be perfect to have something different from the usual warm and spicy scented candles.

Pumpkin Caramel Latte is a warm, sugary scent. It is crafted from a blend of pumpkin and spiced caramel topped with frothed sweet cream... YUM! This was the burfran's favorite smell out of all the candles we smelled so naturally we had to pick it up too!

Caramel Pumpkin Swirl is another warm, sugary scented candle. The description of the candle says it is a sweet, smooth caramel swirl with fresh pumpkin; again I say YUM! All of these candles are making me so hungry!

Last but not least is the Spiced Pumpkin Cider candle! The scent is described as pumpkin-apple cider, ground nutmeg and a hint of clementine. This was the burfran's least favorite, but it was my favorite! There is something about it that was unique to all of the other candles. It was spicy smelling with a hint of sweet!

The last thing I bought was this adorable fall candle holder. It was just too cute to pass up! Plus my new candles look great in it!

As I was looking at the different candles on the Bath & Body Works website, I noticed that they had a link to recipes. There are nine recipes available that were inspired by the Pumpkin Cafe fragrances. Go check them out! They look delicious!

Also, don't forget about the big sale Bath & Body Works is having! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Now let me start by saying, I am not much of a reader. I am more of a 'wait until it becomes a movie' kind of girl. However, I simply could not put this book down!

I love that Sophia Amoruso, the founder and CEO of Nasty Gal, is real in the book. She doesn't try to fluff up her past to make it sound interesting. She just writes what really happened and what she learned from each experience. She also curses in the book (bonus points from me)!

The book made me feel unafraid to be the newbie at something and to ask questions. We can't read your mind, so ask! At some point or another, the person you are asking the question to has asked or wanted to ask that same question to someone else. #GIRLBOSS also teaches you to just be you! Once you love yourself, then everyone and everything else will follow.

If you are looking for a book that gives you a self-motivating and encouraging boost with a reality check, then I would definitely recommend giving this book a read!

"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."

YouTube Addiction

I don't know about you, but I have recently become ADDICTED to YouTube! I can sit for hours watching almost every video a YouTuber has a made (don't judge.. you probably have a weird obsession too). It's just so interesting to me to see what other people do in their day to day life. I also get tired of reading, so this is a way I can just watch what someone is doing rather than read about it.

Below are three YouTubers who I absolutely love and have been watching their videos for a while!

missglamorazzi - Ingrid is just.. weird! And I absolutely love that about her channel. She is not afraid to show people that she is different and quirky! Her channel is mainly about beauty, fashion, and food!

zoella - Watching Zoe's YouTube channel makes you feel like you have been best friends for ages! She talks about beauty and fashion, but she also talks about life. Zoe has really bad panic attacks, and she discusses the issue on her channel to help other girls (and guys) that might suffer from them as well. Although I do not have panic attacks, I think it would be really comforting to know that other people suffer from them too - like I wasn't alone in the world.

sprinkleofglitter - Louise's channel is very dear to me! I am a curvy girl.. always have and always will be.. and so is Louise. She helps girls embrace their curves and to not let them hold you back! Her channel is mainly about beauty, fashion, and her sweet family.

NFL Run Series

I am so excited to be participating in the NFL Run Series for the second year in a row! We (my parents and I) are HUGE New Orleans Saints fans, therefore we participate in the Saints run. There are several different NFL teams that do the Run Series, so you are sure to find one near you.

My favorite part of the run has got to be running out of the team tunnel, onto the 50-yard line, inside the Superdome! My dad and I instantly feel like little kids seeing the 'Welcome to Walt Disney World' banner for the first time!

I keep mentioning the terrifying word 'run'. You can run or walk in this race. We, obviously, walk unless we feel like we are going to be last, then we lightly jog. We are out of shape geared up and ready for this year.. and the refreshing beer you get at the end of the race!

Who is your favorite NFL team?
