Krispy Kreme Date

John and I went to Krispy Kreme last Saturday to indulge in their Christmas doughnuts! YUM! I could honestly eat eight in one sitting.. With a glass of milk of course. Do yourself a favor and go get some before they are all gone!

Christmas Party Fun

Last night was one of my and John's first Christmas parties of the season! I do love Christmas parties. Good food and good people, what more could you ask for! These are just a couple of pictures from last night. Excuse my different shaped eyes in the photo. I'm in the process of training them to be normal..

Planning for NYC

Planning for our upcoming trip to New York City has been so much fun! I've read many trip reports on TripAdvisor and blogs.

But one of my favorite books that I love to plan trips from are the DK Eyewitness Top 10 series. I used them to plan our trip to London and Paris in 2012, and I've been using this one for NYC. No, I'm not getting compensated in anyway for this post. I just really love these books and love planning my trips from them. I have a huge selection of the cities in Italy because that will be our next big trip!

As you can see, I've done a lot of reading for the trip, but I've also started re-watching Gossip Girl. Okay.. So maybe I'm just using that as an excuse to re-watch all of them, but can you blame me? I just love Serena!

If you have any NYC suggestions, please let me know!:)

Christmas Decorations - Apartment Style

Like most people, Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday that I look forward to all year round. I love the meaning of Christmas, the special church services, choir performances, candy, baking, wrapping presents, Christmas light looking, movies, music, and of course decorating.

This year is my first year to be able to decorate my own place. I was worried that it might not be exactly what I envisioned since I was going from my parents' house to an apartment, but I think it turned out great!

I do not have stockings in my apartment because I want to wait until John and I get married (or at least engaged) to pick them out. My stocking is hanging on my parents mantle instead. It looks better over there anyways.

This Christmas tree was hand-painted by my grandma, who passed away when I was eight.

This is a puzzle my dad and I put together!

Present Wrapping - The More Tape, The Better The Present Looks

Wrapping presents is another one of my favorite things to do at Christmas! I usually wrap all of the presents John and I are giving, my parents' presents that they are giving, along with my mamaw and papaw's presents that they are giving. That's a lot of presents, but I love it!

I am slightly OCD about wrapping presents - the lines need to be precise, the edges cannot be loose, and every present needs a bow. A Christmas tradition my family has always had is to put the tag on the bottom of the present instead of the top. This way, no one can snoop under the tree trying to find their present. I'm also a tape fanatic. I get it very honestly from my momma.

John and I had a great time picking out wrapping paper this year, however my credit card didn't. I think we are stocked up on wrapping paper for at least three years. We wanted them all; they are just so cute and sparkly!

After all of the wrapping is finished, I'm anxious to give everyone their presents, which also another one of my favorite things to do!

Have you finished your holiday shopping?

Best Christmas Present Ever!

For Christmas this year, my incredibly ah-mazing mom and dad are giving me a trip to New York City! My parents, John, and I will be leaving next week for the city, and I seriously cannot wait! My Gossip Girl moment has arrived.

It has always been a dream of mine to go to NYC around Christmas time to see the city decked out for the holidays! It looks so magical. I've been reading many trip reports on TripAdvisor and getting ideas of what and when to go see everything. I'm also fully prepared to pay an overage fee for my suitcase on the way home.

Please let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions on what to see or where to eat! I would love to hear them!
