Sephora Goodies

Do they have a Sephora Goers Anonymous? If so, sign me up.

I recently went and here are all of my goodies. I'm trying out the word goodies instead of haul to see how I feel about it. Right now, I'm not really feeling it. But it'll have to do!

Thanks to Life's Candy Jar, I have fallen head over heels in love with Fresh products. I started using the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser at the beginning of January and just now how to repurchase a new one. It's extremely gentle on your skin, removes ALL of your makeup, and smells well fresh! My skin is definitely more on the normal to oily side, and I can use this morning and night and not have a problem. I've also been using the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream morning and night. It sinks into the skin quickly and doesn't leave me feeling greasy.

The Seaberry Face Oil and Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment are two new things that I've been wanting to try. I was looking for something to put on my face after I exfoliated and used a mask that would hydrate my skin more than just a moisturizer. Using the Seaberry Face Oil is definitely a night-time thing for me because my face would look like an oil spill if I used it in the morning. So far I am liking it, but I haven't decided if it is a must-have for me or not. The Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment is amazing, and I will be repurchasing it! It is a thick lip treatment that makes your lips feel amazing. It doesn't really have a smell and is just overall fantastic.

I bought the YSL Rouge Volupte' Shine in Pink Confidence because I had recently gotten the same lipstick in Corail Intuitive and loved it! The consistency of this lipstick is moisturizing and doesn't smell like lipstick. Pink Confidence is a sheer, shiny nude with a hint of pink. The picture makes it look orange, but I promise it is not! It's one of those lipsticks you can put on without a mirror and know that it will look good!

At the Sephora corral, I picked up the Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick Duo in Fig/Date. I've never tried Bite Beauty before, but I've heard such good things about it. Fig is a great nude pink that gives more color than the YSL lipstick, but Date just didn't do my lips any justice. It's a lot more brown than I was anticipating.

Aaahhh, Glamglow! I had a sample of the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment and loved it, so I had to go back and get the mack daddy size. You can literally see the mud getting down into the pores. I love products where I can see it working. When you wash the mask off of your face, your pores are hardly noticeable at all! It's kind of amazing (little things amaze me)! I will warn you that this stuff smells like straight-up MUD. Glamglow didn't try to mask it at all.

I was so amazed with the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment that I wanted to also try the Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment and the Glamglow Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment. I have yet to use them, but I'm really excited to give them a go!

Have you tried any of the Glamglow masks?

Mississippi "Snow" Day

To northerners, this would most definitely not be considered a snow day, probably not even snow, but to us Mississippians, this was a snow day! If there is snow (ice) on the ground, the whole state will shut down, and it did. On Wednesday, grocery stores and gas stations were filled with people buying their bread, milk, beer, and gas. You know, snow essentials.. in case we got snowed in.

We literally had every season this week. Monday and Tuesday were Summer (hot), Wednesday was Spring (rainy yet still nice outside), Thursday and today was/is Winter, tomorrow and Sunday will be Fall.

What season is your state experiencing?

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Mine will be spent dog sitting two adorable furbabies!

I'm Switching Back

I've had the Samsung Galaxy S5 for about 4 days, and I'm over it. I miss my iPhone. It was so easy. The Samsung hurts my ear to talk on it, I cannot group text, I like using iTunes for my music, and I don't like the camera.. at all. I honestly did like the Samsung, but I loved my iPhone.

I now present to you my iPhone 6:) Even though I feel like a failure for not keeping the Samsung, I'm much happier now with an iPhone back in my hands. Life is good! Oh, and you can find my case here!

A Little Update

I completely understand why bloggers like to change the look of their blog now. It gets boring, and you want something new. I rarely look at my blog like a reader would, so I didn't notice how buh my blog looked until I saw John reading it. I mainly noticed the font. It looked like I couldn't decide between serif, sans-serif, or monospace.

I really love the look of it now, and I did it all by myself, which makes me feel even more accomplished. To be honest, I like coding - not hardcore coding, just simple coding and trying to figure it out. John graduated with a computer science degree, so it makes me feel cool when I can say, "yeah, I designed that awesome blog all by myself!" A little lame? Maybe. But it works for us.

On another note, I got a new phone. I've needed a new one for quite sometime. I had the iPhone 5 for a little over two years, and the buttons weren't working anymore. The iPhone is near and dear to my heart because I've had one for so long (6 years), but the quality of them were just starting to suck. So, I took to YouTube and watched this video on iPhone 6 vs. Samsung Galaxy S5. The Samsung won by a long shot. I've had it for less than 24 hours, and I already love it! My Kate Spade case came from Best Buy.

John and I were supposed to be doing Valentine's together last night. Between my work schedule and him getting sick, we haven't been able to do anything. But, as usual, things got in the way, and we couldn't go last night. So.. Saturday.. We are planning for Saturday! Chocolate covered strawberries from Godiva and a trip to Sephora is what's on the agenda. I gave him his present a little early because I was going on vacation, so this is his present to me. I've been wanting him to come with me to Sephora, mainly so I can see how a male reacts in that environment. It should be funny!

Have a great weekend!

The Roaming Traveler: Does NYC at Christmastime |Part Five|

Day Seven:

This was the last day, and we had a flight to catch at 6:00pm. So we made this day shopping/Central Park day.

Mom and dad took a carriage ride around Central Park, and John and I climbed a rock to lookout over the park. Romantic:) Also, excuse the no makeup.. I'm not wearing makeup to fly on a plane:)

My last must-have picture of the trip!

I felt like this picture just screamed Central Park! So peaceful.

We took a picture of every bridge we passed thinking it might've been in Home Alone 2. I still don't think we ever actually found the right bridge, but you can't say that we didn't try.

Imagine mosaic.

Bow Bridge.

So many movies have been filmed here. I can see that the park is easily a great escape from the city life while still being in the city.

Bethesda Fountain.

Conservatory Water, where they race model boats!

Alice and Wonderland statue.

NYC has stolen a piece of my heart, and I cannot wait to make another trip back! I'm so grateful to have such amazing parents for taking me on this fantastic trip and allowing my amazing boyfriend to come along with us!

If you have any questions about our trip, I would love to answer them!

The Roaming Traveler: Does NYC at Christmastime |Part Four|

Day Five:

The flower district was the first stop of the day! It was so lovely seeing two blocks full of flower shops.

I got an amazing latte from this cute little coffee shop. It was the first time I had ever received latte art, so I had to take a picture. They also had fantastic macaroons. The espresso macaroon was my favorite!

I found the building I want to live in, so naturally I had to take a picture in front of it.

Eataly and the Flatiron Building were next on the list! Eataly was jammed pack, so we didn't stay in there for too long.

Bird house mansion in Gramercy Park.

The coolest Santa Claus I have ever seen! He looks like he popped out of an old story book.

We just walked thru the Union Square Holiday Market since it was to crowded to even attempt to look at a booth.

Carrie Bradshaw's brownstone!

I wanted to see DVF's studio, and I knew you could see it from the High Line. Mom and dad decided to sit on the bench and wait on John and I to walk it. Smart move on their part. We started at the wrong end to see DVF's studio and ended up having to walk the entire thing.. there and back.

But see saw some pretty views along the way!

Madison Square Garden.

Santacon was also going on this day. We saw quite an interesting group of people!

THE Brooklyn Bridge picture that I was dying to take! My camera wouldn't cooperate, so I settled with using my iPhone instead.

The original Grimaldi's, and it was FANTASTIC! I would go there every single trip to NYC. And I felt like there could've been some mobsters in there!

Dad and I split off from John and mom when leaving Brooklyn because they did not want to go into the Empire State Building, plus it was midnight!

I was kind of disappointed in the views from the Empire State building. It was really pretty, but I liked the Top of the Rock much better!

My feet were killing me by the end of this day. Dad and I got back to the hotel around 2:00am.

Day Six:

My first Starbucks coffee where they wrote my name on the cup! I was so excited. They just don't do that here in Mississippi. It was the perfect thing to have while strolling through the Diamond District.

Dad and I went into the Top of the Rock after we explored the Diamond District. Mom and John waited for us on the bottom. I loved the Top of the Rock! You get much better views and can get great pictures of the Empire State Building.

Another must-have picture was this one of Central Park, except I wasn't expecting that taller building to the right to be in it.

We went into Macy's to see Santaland and Santa, but the wait time was four hours. Needless to say, we left!

John and I parted ways with mom and dad, and we went to go visit some friends in Hoboken, NJ. I loved Hoboken, and this restaurant they took us to was AMAZING! I definitely recommend it!

They live close to the water, so we got to see some incredible views of NYC.

After John and I got back from Hoboken, we met up with daddy to finish up the places we wanted to see since this was our last night. I'm pretty sure my feet were bleeding by this point, but I wanted to take in all of NYC before we had to leave. I dragged dad and John all over NYC this night, while mom rested her knee in the hotel room. Our first stop was Grand Central Terminal, and we found the whispering corner!

Dad decided we should walk out of a different door than I suggested, and I am so glad we did. We walked right out the door that Pershing Square is across from! I'm a big Friends With Benefits fan, and this was one the things on my list I really wanted to see. Since it was so late at night, they were closed, but I'm still glad that we saw it. Thanks daddio!

The New York Public Library was something else on my list. These lions are just the coolest to me! We couldn't walk inside the library because there was a movie premiere going on, which we later found out that it was for Selma.

Along the way from leaving the library, we stopped by Lord and Taylor to see the window displays and Bryant Park. We hopped on the subway, so we could see the Helmsley Building and the New York Palace. As a huge Gossip Girl fan, I HAD to see the NY Palace. It was around 2:15am, so we walked (I hobbled) back to the hotel.
