I Love My Fur Babies

This weekend, John and I made the trek back home for my dad's birthday and Easter! We love going home to see all of our family and friends, but 8 hours, one way, is a long drive to spend less that 48 hours with everyone. There is just never enough time, but we all make it work!

When we go back to Mississippi, we always bring the dogs with us. They love going back home to see everyone just as much as we do, and they are great car riders! Layla, the great dane, and Penny, the great dane/lab mix, are technically John's dogs. He got them before I came along, but I love them like my own.

Layla has a new found love for being covered up with a blanket while she is snoozing!

My girls - Bell, the beagle, and Sophie, the basset hound - stayed with my parents when I moved up here. It just didn't seem fair to make them leave everything they had known for forever. They have always slept with my parents (I think because my bed was much smaller), and they have a huge backyard to run around in.

All four girls finally met this weekend, which was quite an interesting time. They all did really well, but it was too chaotic to try and snap a picture. I know, blogger fail.

I hope you all had a Happy Easter! John and I saw this beautiful sunset on the way home last night, while passing a bus going to Guadalajara. I looked it up to see how far away they were from their destination - only 1 day and 3 hours. Ermahgerd!

Ringin' in Spring...

With snow...
Seriously! On the first day of Spring, it was snowing. I must say, I am not used to this snow. People kept telling me, before I moved up here, that they were jealous of the snowy winters John and I would get. I say to them, "you can have it!"

But to prepare for Spring, John and I went flower searching on Saturday. We found out that St. Louis actually has a flower district! It is located on Lasalle Street in the Gate District.

I was so excited, not because I'm a huge flower fan, but it reminded me of the flower district in New York! I'm still on the page of flowers are kind of expensive, they kind of stink, and they literally die a few days later, so I made sure to take pictures of them before they died.. for the blog of course!

The fish pitcher setup is my favorite! It kind of looks like the fish is yakking up flowers. Oops. As you will see in the pictures below, I don't buy pitchers for actually putting drink in them. I buy them to put flowers in. John isn't a fan of this idea, but at least I am putting them into good use.
I hope you had a great, non-snowy first day of Spring!

Did you do anything exciting this weekend?

Since I've Been Gone

This morning I was reading through my Bloglovin' feed, drinking my tea, when I realized how much I missed blogging. I don't even know why I stopped, but I would think just laziness. It gets me every time. Damn you laziness!

I saw that Maddie Chester recently took a year off and came back to blogging, and it made me wonder how long I had taken off. It had been exactly 361 days. Crazy! So I figured I would give my highlights of 2015 then get on with 2016 because so far it has been an amazing and life changing year!

APRIL 2015:
Quit my job and started working at the drug store full-time. A day later, John found out he had to move to the St. Louis area for his job.

JUNE 2015:
Went to Disney World for our friends' wedding and to see John's family.

On that same trip, John proposed at Dayton Beach, Florida! It was perfect!

Found my wedding dress!

Had the BEST bachelorette weekend in New Orleans with the greatest friends a girl could ask for!

Halloween occurred while in NOLA, so we dressed up as zombie bride and bridesmaids!

...And we got rained on but still had the best time!

Packed up my apartment to move my stuff to John's new apartment and so I could move back in with my parents until after the wedding.

Had some of the greatest bridal showers I could have ever asked for.

Got our marriage license.

And enjoyed Christmas!
It was an incredible year for both me and John! We have the most amazing family and friends, and we could not have done any of this without them!
