Lazy, Snowy Weekend

This weekend was a snowy one here in southern Illinois. I've never seen so much snow in my life. John was out of town all weekend helping some friends move, so it was just me and the babes to soak it all in.

The snow started Friday afternoon around 2:00pm. I worked until 6:00pm, and let me tell you, it was an experience driving home. I forgot my ice scraper at home, so I ended up using my brush to get the snow off of my car. I also didn't have any gloves because I didn't think it was going to be that bad. Boy, was that stupid. I kept switching the brush from one hand to the other because they kept going numb. The roads were terrible for a Mississippi girl who has never driven in that kind of snow, but I made it home safely. Slow and steady won that race.
On Saturday, I had to shovel a path in the driveway. It was so thick there was no way my little car was going to make it out. I've never shoveled snow before nor do I ever want to do it again. My back and arms hurt so bad by the time I was done, and my arms were super shaky. I was fully prepared to have to take a Flexeril when I got home from work but ended up not having to.

On my way home from work that afternoon (I get off at 1:00pm), I knew I wasn't going to cook when I got there, and I also knew that I didn't want to get back out once my butt hit the couch. The snow had stopped but the rain had started, so I decided on Marco's Pizza. They were having a sale on an XL cheese pizza for $9.99 plus a free movie rental at Family Video next door. Um, score! I could pick any movie I wanted and John couldn't say no because he wasn't there. I picked out The Spy Who Dumped me and watched it later that night. It was okay. I love Mila Kunis, but if it wasn't for her, then it would've been just meh in my opinion. I also watched Hotel Transylvania 3, which was pretty cute, but the first one is just the best!
The rain on Saturday helped some of the snow melt, so the yard stick picture doesn't do the depth of snow justice. It was deeeep. The snow started back up sometime early Sunday morning and finally stopped late Sunday afternoon, but I didn't go back out and remeasure. The Saints game was on, so I was preoccupied. WHO DAT!
The girls and I had a great, relaxing weekend full of whatever we wanted to do! Clearly their idea of fun was watching the snow fall and sleeping next to their chicken. What did you do this weekend? Did it snow where you live?
